so anyways, if you follow me on Instagram, then you know Friday was a very sad day for me…. why? I’ll tell you…. after finding the perfect starter house for our newborn to be and everything else, I tried to find homes with 4 bedrooms that I could knock down a wall in like how my place now is, but it just wasn’t working… there was no real loft area that could take up that much space and still give us everything we need. to be honest, I got lucky by having that big gallery area, so that being 1 reason and this next picture sealed the deal on the main reason why I have to let go of my be@rbrick collection….

my little 1 year old Nephew Jesse came by our home before we left for our honeymoon and he couldn’t stop playing with the be@rs, he was obsessed with them and it was too cute to watch, he kissed them and I’m sure he wanted to take them down from the wall…. so there is NO way I could say NO to my own child, so there is NO way I could keep them really. I wouldn’t want to visit them in a gallery and no gallery would host them for a few years or long period of time, so it’s best to say good bye and sell off the biggest 1000% collection in the states and one of the top 1000% be@rbrick collections in the world.

they’ll be at Guy Hepner Art Gallery until the 23rd. on the 22nd of this month (a thursday) we will have a big event in honor of the installation and there will be cocktails and things served….

we had to have a special transport come get these that could insure these for over $50,000 and they were only going about 6 blocks away…. so imagine how much that cost? I wasn’t gonna take the risk. For those of you who collect art or know about rare or expensive art, Guy Hepner is one of the premier art dealers for people like Banksy, Warhol, Basquiat and at one point for a while was 1 of only 2 people who sold David LaChapelle… but he sells so much more too and he gets it done EARLY! he’s sold Kaws and 4 foot companions for higher than anyone else, his demographic and client list is the elite of elitists! so they’re not tripping or trying to get deals. but this collection will go for a fair value considering it took me since 2003 to build and these were shipped from all over the place, from paris to london to hong kong and tokyo! just shipping on the be@rs cost me over $4,000 easy over the past years…. so now that they’re all in 1 place, this is an impressive collection for any art lover to have in their home. He doesn’t cater to the hypebeast or sneakerhead crowd at all. I thought hard about keeping the Chanel bearbrick, but the collection wouldn’t be complete without her…. in fact, when the courier took all the be@rs, I drove Coco Chanel myself to the gallery…

guy did a great job replicating my wall at home and he built it even longer so it could accodate all the bears… he had it built really fast too. but it looks so much better a little longer as shown and with everything up evenly

so me and Nic went and got some dinner and I was depressed… but knew my 39 year old big kid ass had to grow up… I didn’t feel like doing shit and I didn’t even feel like eating anywhere really nice… so after we finished a meal at CPK, I drove over to the gallery to check out my bears…

smh, the best thing about this situation is that I don’t need the money, so it’ll go to the right owner

NOW BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER…. So anyways, I always keep a 3 day bag packed in the trunk and had a few errands to run early, so around noon after I talked to Drizzy I was like fuck this, what telly you stayin at? okay, I’m on my way! I roll down to grab Franchise and only agreed to go if he drove my car down(had to stunt on daygo cats in the 7)…. filled up the gas tank and grabbed some bad fast food and shook to the 619….

who wouldn’t love to drive the best luxury sedan on earth? ME! it took us 2.5 hours to get to the whales vagina! smh

while Franchise is navigating his way through the worst traffic ever…. I get an email from a friend showing me his new car….

so after all that damn traffic, we finally check into the hotel room and decided to walk down to the horton plaza mall….. did some very lightweight shopping and kept it pushing as I knew we didn’t have much time to eat and get ready for the night(I didn’t expect much again…man I was sooo wrong) we hit up Subway(yes the very mediocre sandwich shop…. told y’all i’m a regular guy lol) so I order a small sammich(last thing I needed was bubble guts during the show… I learned a LONG TIME ago to NEVER eat before I performed/dj’d or was gonna be in a nightclub, etc for a long amount of hours smh lol)

got back to the hotel, organized my shit, I don’t know how to use an iron so CD Jr helped me out…. got online and blogged about the night before and chatted with my girl then before I knew it, it was time to head out…. had the whip pulled up to the front of the telly and told CJ and Drizzy I’d meet them in the lobby of the telly…

PEEP GAME LOL… as we’re all walking out of the hotel and to the tour bus, these girls pull up out of nowhere literally and jump out of a car… I’m like okay, Drake fans already, dope! the girl gets stopped by Drake’s security and she says VERBATIM “drake, I have front row seats to your show, but can you please do me a favor and take a picture of me and Ben Baller?” LOLOLLOLOLOOLL. I think Franchise musta died inside.. now I know I got fans and followers of my blog or people I inspire, but honestly? I don’t think I’m famous or worthy of having what you would call “fans” so I just embrace any positive energy thrown my way… anyways. Drake takes the picture while busting up laughing and I’m still thinking Drake prolly thinks I paid this girl to do this, but she had said she reads my blog, etc…. (well mama, much love to you and I appreciate the support)

ok, so we’re finally off to UCSD for the concert and I had no idea what the hell the Sun God festival was or how big the arena was or anything… I just figured club nokia was 3,000 strong, so SD shoulda been the same, maybe a little more…. so we head out and I guess we got wrong directions, or better yet, we got the wrong address! So we get there and we chill out on the tour bus for a little while before heading in….. before all that, Future the Prince(Drizzy’s DJ & partner) walks into the bus and says, yo you ain’t bring a jacket? i’m like naw… for what? it was hot as hell in the club last night…. (i’m still thinking this is a basketball arena or indoor event center) and Future’s like hell naw, you’re gonna freeze! It’s OUTDOORS FAM! and it’s packed! I’m like wtf? cuz they’re from Toronto! so I’m buggin! I walk into Drizzy’s room and demand a jacket… he pulls out a Polo jacket(of course smh) and we start walking into the arena area… we stop at Drakes dressing room which he didn’t even use, maybe his band did…. we gather in a circle and say a prayer(love this type shit and the energy going into this show) and so I tell Drake, yo I brought a black gold pvd beaded necklace fam… should I throw it into the crowd? He says, word? naw…. I’mma figure it out, so just stay tuned and when you hear your name, come out and play it by ear….
once we hit the stage, I’m like HOLY FUCK! there’s over 20,000 people gathered around and I felt like I was at Coachella or Woodstock 2000…. it was packed like a motherfucker and Drake goes on and I forget about the skit thing…. He comes out banging with FOREVER and….. well… here’s some pics to show you what’s good…

okay, so now this is where it gets tricky… because I’m sorta people watching and I don’t know wtf the fuck it going on…. but this is also the part of the show where Drake picks out a special girl/lady from the audience and Jaz Prince brings her up onto the stage and Drizzy Woo’s her….. and then Drake calls my name out, 2 times and Franchise and even Bubbs(drakes security) are like yo BEN, he’s calling you… so I walk out on stage and play with the skit he got going on….. I give the girl a $3,000 black gold beaded(rosary style) necklace (fuck it right?) and Drake shouts me out and I walk off…..

he ran into the crowd and created bedlam….

so we all shook from UCSD and headed back to the gaslamp district to this club called On Broadway which is where the official after party was being held…. I swear to god, Drakes team is so official, I’ve ran with the best in every field, from rock to alternative to hip hop, etc…. I’m just saying, Drizzy’s squad is AAAA and never slippin (MUCH LOVE AGAIN TO CJ, JAMIL, TEZ, THE WHOLE SECURITY STAFF AND OF COURSE DRAKE FOR SHOWING ME AND MY PARTNER LOVE)
we walk up to the entrance… ummm actually through the kitchen like on some Swingers meets Good Fellas type shit… and as soon as the people see Drake it was crazier than I’ve seen with any rapper (except lil wayne and maybe ye’)
we sit down at our table and immediately 10 bottles of Ace of Spades is waiting for the team…. rose’ + gold bottles and the big Gran Patron…. grey goose, cmon…. that shit is in his rider agreement! (hand claps)
so I get up on stage with Drizzy to act a fool as this is NOT SOMETHING foreign at all lol…. pink bottle in my hand? I’m happy

I don’t know what happened next besides barfing in the hotel room…. but I woke up to the WORST NEWS EVER!

got a call from my brother Double R and was told my Cocky Ridaz Bro Bro GENO CAP (Eugene Jackson) was killed in a car accident just hours before the call…. that shit ruined my day… trip and weekend… I didn’t know what to do or where to begin….. all I know is that I wasn’t going to continue this tour to Santa Barbara….

I paid my respects to most of Geno’s fam and made some calls and took 4 advils and a lot of water…. stopped to get some gas and even though there wasn’t any traffic, my head was so fucked off from hearing my boy Geno was killed…. I had Franchise drive us up….
I promised I’d stop by the L-R-G Sample Sale to check out the stuff and say what up and by the time we got there it was already crazy….
I got some SUPER SUPER ILL L-R-G X OAKLEY SKI GOGGLES THOUGH! and some grass roots sweats that fit me! (I used to rock shit way too big!)

After about 8 hours of sleep which was much needed, I still had a fucked up feeling inside me…. so I went to spend some time with my family and they made me feel a lot better….

all in all, I can’t express again how much appreciation I got for my lil homey Drake and I got to meet a very talented photographer Derick G who is Cash Money’s official photog and I really had an amazing time in SD this weekend…. prolly the best time I’ve ever had in Daygo… but now it’s time to focus, continue grinding and prepare for a funeral I wish I didn’t have to go to… smh
